Monastic Professions

The Community are pleased to announce that Novice Sr Jessica has been elected to First Vows. Sr Jessica has been a part of the Community for just over four years, following a career in teaching. All being well the profession, at which Jessica will take the Benedictine vows of obedience, stability and conversion of life for a period of three years, will take place in early December.

On Monday 1st November, the feast of All Saints, Br Jonathan took his Solemn Vows at a service attended by close family, friends and visiting Religious. The Eucharist was presided over by our new Visitor, Bishop Anne of Aston. The lessons were read by former Br Luke and former Sr Mary, Br Stuart read from the Prologue to the Rule, and Sr Jessica gave a wonderful homily (which you can download here). And despite having had an operation on her foot only two days earlier, Sr Sally did excellent service as the thurifer. There followed a light lunch with “enhanced refreshments”.
